COVID-19 FAQ

COVID-19 UPDATE - 28 July 2021

The Adelaide Aquatic Centre has re-opened but please be aware of the following key pieces of information and instructions for your next visit:

  • Complete your COVID check-in via our QR code or the contact tracing forms provided at reception.
  • Follow social distancing guidelines (stay 1.5m away from others) and maximum occupancy numbers displayed within the Centre.
  • Masks are mandatory and must be worn in all indoor areas (except when swimming or during vigorous exercise). If you are exempt, please carry your evidence with you to produce on request.
  • Wash your hands and use the sanitising stations provided around the Centre.
  • Stay home if you are unwell.
  • Limit your visit to 2 hours and your workout in our Fitness Centre to 1 hour.
  • We ask that you limit your use of shared facilities such as our changerooms and showers during this time.
  • Group fitness classes will return as scheduled; spots will be limited due to density requirements, so we recommend arriving early to secure your spot.

Facilities and Services:

Q: When are you open?

A: Adelaide Aquatic Centre is open:

  • Monday to Friday – 6.00 am to 9:00 pm
  • Saturday to Sunday – 7.00 am to 6.00 pm
  • Public Holidays – 7.00 am to 6.00 pm

Q: Will there be food and drinks available?

A: Yes! Our Café is open and will be open 7 days a week from 10.00am until 5:00pm (this service may close early depending on demand)

Q: I need a new pair of bathers, when will the swim shop be open?

A: Our swim shop remains closed, but some essential items can still be bought at Reception including goggles, caps, swimmer nappies and gym towels. We also have some sale item bathers available.

Please note there is no returns unless the product is faulty and no returns or refunds on sale items.

Q: Can I use the Sauna and Steam Room as a casual visitor?

A: These facilities remain closed under the current level of restrictions. They are a members only service and we will advise members directly when they re-open.

Q: Can I book a birthday party?

A: Yes. Please visit our birthday party page to book.

Health & Safety

Q: What’s in place to keep customers safe in this COVID environment?

A: We have a number of rules and processes in place:

  • Completed risk assessments and developed a COVID Safe Plan
  • Placed instructional signage around the centre
  • We ask that people stay away if they are feeling unwell
  • No towel, no training in our gym facilities
  • Sanitising stations are in place around the centre
  • Where applicable, seat marking has been implemented
  • Social distancing markers and directional signage have been used
  • We have COVID Marshals onsite at all times
  • Masks are mandatory unless engaged in physical activity or coaching

Q: Has you cleaning process changed?

A: Yes. Cleaning has been increased in line with State Government recommendations for COVID-19.

General membership:

Q: I don’t want to start back on 28 July, can I extend or cancel my membership?

A: These are the options, depending on your type of membership.

  1. Centre members can use their time-stop or suspension entitlement.
  2. If you hold an annual membership (upfront or DD), you cannot cancel your membership, as per your contract.
  3. Perpetual members (including Swim School members) must give a minimum seven days’ notice in writing of your intent to cancel, before your next scheduled direct debit.

Q: Can I cancel my membership, as I cannot use the sauna or steam room?

A: No, based on the terms and conditions of your membership.

This states that during major events, members may have limited access to facilities including pools, classes, and other products and services. In these instances, compensation is not offered to members.

Members will receive further updates on services and their membership expiry dates and payments directly.

Swim School Members:

Q: Are lessons running?

A: No, due the current 1 per 8 square metre density requirements we do not believe it is possible to run a successful learn to swim program. Further updates will be sent directly to you via email.

Q: How many people can come with me to swimming lessons?

A: We encourage only one spectator per student, to help ensure social distancing.

Centre Members:

Q: Are you limiting the numbers for group fitness classes

A: Land based classes have been reduced significantly to meet the density requirement of 1 per 8 sqm. Please see the updated timetable which includes max. numbers for each class.

Q: The group fitness class I normally attend is not on the program, when will this return?

A: The timetable is updated on a week by week basis, based on attendance and demand.

Q: Is 50m lap swimming available?

A: No, the pool is set at 25m due to maintenance requirements.
