Swim School for Adults

Swim School Program finishes on Sunday 7 July 2024

The Adelaide Aquatic Centre Swim School Program will officially finish on Sunday 7 July 2024.

After your final lesson, no further debits will take place.

If you wish to cancel your enrolment prior to 7 July 2024, per the Terms and Conditions of your Swim School Membership, we require a minimum seven (7) days' notice prior to your next debit to formalise your cancellation.

Please speak to our Customer Service Team in person or via email [email protected].

If you have any credits due to cancelled lessons or planned absences, our Customer Service team will be in contact upon completion of our program to arrange refunds. All Missed Lesson Passes have an expiry of 31 July 2024.

No refunds will apply if Missed Lesson Passes are not used before the closure of the Centre.

If you completed the State Government’s Expression of Interest (EOI) Process to nominate your preferred alternative Swim School venue, you will have already received information regarding your new venue and when you will transition to your new program. If you haven’t completed the EOI process and would like assistance in finding an alternative Swim School venue, you can still complete the process via the State Government’s website.

Many adults feel embarrassed to admit that they can’t swim (or can’t swim well). They figure, it’s too late to pick it up.

You're not alone. One in every 20 adults feel exactly the same.

The good news is, it's never too late to learn. Our adults classes are the perfect way to set a good example for your children, and learn essential skills to survive in the water.

It's normal to feel nervous.

Let us repeat. It is normal to feel nervous. We know that it can be hard to take the first step.

But that is ok.

At Adelaide Aquatic Centre, you work slowly with kind and patient professional swim coaches. You go at your own pace and skill level that is comfortable, in a small class of other adults of similar skill. There is no pressure, and no feeling self-conscious or embarrassed.

Not every family scrapbook is filled with fond memories of the beach. But that does not mean you must miss-out on on memories to come.

"We run these lessons for people just like you; there are so many parents who have realised they need to increase their skills so they can help their kids.”

That's why in your class, you will learn:

  • The trick to feeling confident by the pool and how to learn to love the water
  • Why you have trouble floating – and the secret to stay afloat
  • All the basic strokes AND the best reason to use each one
  • How to fine-tune your style and swim with ease

Since founding Adelaide Aquatic Centre half a century ago, we have taught hundreds of adults the fundamental swimming skills they need to survive.

Our pool is always heated to a toasty 27°C, and classes are held all year round at convenient times throughout the week – because we know you’re busy.

"Saying, 'I’m not good at this but I want to learn – can you teach me?' means the fear no longer rules me. I am back in control."
