  • Conditions of entry

    General

    • This is a non-smoking venue.
    • Management reserves the right to refuse entry.
    • Anyone attempting to gain entry without paying or without authorisation will be prosecuted.
    • Members and guests are required to follow staff directions at all times. Failure to do so may result in eviction from the centre.
    • Abusive, disruptive, aggressive or offensive behaviour and language is not permitted.
    • Any person under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted into the centre.
    • The centre accepts no responsibility for any loss of, or damage to any personal belongings or property of members or guests while in the centre or car park.
    • No pets or animals permitted in the centre, with the exception of guide dogs, hearing dogs and assistance dogs.

    Equipment and items not permitted

    Management reserves the right to inspect any bag and / or articles of clothing for the following prohibited items:

    • Alcohol and drugs: Alcohol and drugs will not be tolerated in the centre. Any person bringing in or under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted into the centre. The centre is a dry and drug-free zone.
    • Food and beverage: The centre caters for food and beverage requirements. Commercial fast food is not permitted. These include but is not limited to McDonalds, KFC, Subway etc.
    • Cans and glass: Cans, glass bottles and articles of clothing containing glass or sharp objects are not permitted.
    • Sharp objects, knives and weapons: Any weapon on the prohibited list as listed by the South Australian Police. Note: religious or ceremonial items / weapons need to be declared and potentially checked in at reception. The aim is not to discriminate but to ensure safety of all in a public space.
    • Whistles and musical instruments
    • Fireworks, flares and laser lights

    Other equipment and materials not permitted

    • Unauthorised temporary signage and promotional products
    • Chairs and stools
    • Rollerblades, skateboards, scooters and bicycles
    • Any cooking device or associated flammable materials
    • Helium balloons

    Bring your own (BYO) private parties are not permitted

    Adelaide Aquatic Centre does not accommodate BYO private parties. We do however offer hosting and catering as a service and have various party and menu options to choose from. Please enquire at reception for more information.

    Pool use conditions

    • Please observe pool safety rules and signage at all times.
    • Please shower before entering the water.
    • Please do not use shampoo or soap in the showers on pool decks.

    Child supervision policy

    • At all times, children under the age of 5 must wear a pink wrist band and be within arms reach of a parent or responsible person who is over the age of 16.
    • At all times, children under the age of 10 must wear a yellow wrist band and be accompanied and supervised by a parent or responsible person who is over the age of 16.
    • Parents or responsible persons who are distracted by electronic or mobile devices may be spoken to by management.
    • Adelaide Aquatic Centre will enforce a 'Watch Around Water' policy.

    Photography and camera use conditions

    We welcome the capturing of your magic moments on camera and video provided that the privacy of other members and guests is respected. The use of cameras, video recorders and smart phones within the centre is conditional upon the following:

    • You must have all relevant individuals consent to take, use or broadcast their images as it is illegal to broadcast or publish images without consent.
    • Under no circumstances are cameras, video recorders or smart phones to be used in change rooms or steam and sauna rooms.
    • Members from the media are required to sign the attendance register at the customer service desk before entering the centre. It is the responsibility of the media to obtain consent or permission from relevant members and guests to capture, publish or broadcast images or video sourced from within the centre.

    Legal notice

    The user / hirer must indemnify and keep indemnified and hold harmless the Adelaide Aquatic Centre management from and against all actions, claims, penalties, demands, costs, expenses or damages in any way related to any act or omission of Adelaide Aquatic Centre management or of any persons acting on behalf of the Adelaide Aquatic Centre management in respect to the use of services and facilities at the centre.

    Safeguarding Children and Young People

    The Adelaide Aquatic Centre (AAC) and the YMCA Victoria are committed to the safety and well-being of all children and young people accessing AAC service. The welfare of the children and young people in AAC’s care will always be priority. Read our Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy.

    Watch Around Water

    Adelaide Aquatic Centre and the Y are Watch Around Water endorsed aquatic safety organisations.

    Watch Around Water is a set of industry guidelines outlining the minimum supervision requirements of young children at all affiliated aquatic venues.

    Children under 5 years old

    All children MUST be accompanied into the centre by a person 16 years and older and supervised within arms’ reach, at all times in the water.

    All children MUST wear a pink wristband supplied by YMCA staff to help identify their age while swimming.

    Children will not be admitted without a full fee paying parent/guardian who must also be in the water at all times. Groups will not be admitted entry where the number of parents/guardians supervising a group of children under 5 years exceeds the ratio of 1:2 (effective 1 September 2019).

    Children under 10 years old

    All children under the age of 10 MUST be accompanied into the centre by a person 16 years and older. All children MUST be actively supervised by an adult over the age of 16 at all times. The adult must have a clear and active view of the child with no physical or structural barriers between them (this includes tech and devices).

    A child of limited swimming ability and or reliant on a flotation aid much be accompaniedand in arms' reach in the waterby a responsible person 16 years and olderregardless of the child's age.

    All children MUST wear a yellow wristband supplied by YMCA staff to help identify their age while swimming. Groups will not be admitted entry where the number of parents/guardians supervising a group of children under 10 years exceeds the ratio of 1:4.

    All children
    Unsupervised children (of any age) will be removed from the water if the lifeguard is concerned for their safety.

    Birthday parties
    All children under the age of 10 MUST be accompanied into the centre by a person 16 years and older and handed over to the supervision of the birthday party host (staff member).

    All birthday party participants must wear a green wristband to identify their participation in a party AND will be given an age based wristband (pink or yellow) at the conclusion of their birthday party if they choose to use the aquatic facilities (effective 1 September 2019). The adult guardian of the birthday party child MUST remain accessible and actively supervise the group at all times.

    At the conclusion of the birthday party the child/children will remain in the supervision of the birthday party leader and supervising parent until physically handed over to their supervising parent/guardian.

    Concession – Only available on Limited products - Concession card Holders need to provide proof of concession card to have access to concession pricing.


    Multi Visit Pass

    • A Multi Visit Pass is non-refundable
    • A Multi Visit Pass is non-transferable
    • Any unused visits will be forfeited on Expiry
    • A Multi Visit Pass is valid for 3 years.

    Bookings with Multi Visit Pass

    • A booking made and cancelled more than 2 Hours prior to the class start time will receive a return of the booking product.
    • A booking attempted to be cancelled within 2 Hours of the class start time will be unable to be cancelled and your booking product will be forfeited.

    Single Entry/ Booking Products

    • A single-entry product / service will expire 30 Days from the date of purchase if not used.

    Bookings with Single Entry Product / Service

    •  A booking made and cancelled more than 2 Hours prior to the class start time will receive a return of the booking product.
    • A booking attempted to be cancelled within 2 Hours of the class start time will be unable to be cancelled and your booking product will be forfeited.
